Small Group & Private Classes
In my studio, my aim is to create an inclusive environment that welcomes the diversity of minds that exists in our world. The small groups with a maximum of 5 students allow a me to get to know my students well and provide a truly personalized approach according to each person's capacities and interests.
During my classes, students are offered a structured framework of technique within which they have the freedom to express themselves through the creation of landscapes, portraits and still-lifes. Throughout the session, I use art historical references, demonstrations and one-on-one instruction that allow students to learn the foundational skills of figurative drawing and oil painting. No prior experience or prerequisites are necessary, but they are welcome, if applicable.

In an inclusive environment free of judgment or expectation of a predictable outcome, students develop flexibility of mind, creativity and confidence as they make original works of art from start to finish. As they explore their creativity, participants improve their concentration and observation skills and develop a sense of confidence in their ability to think and see like an artist.
As a practicing artist with over 35 years of experience and as the mother of a neuro-divergent child, I want my diverse students, who all see and experience the world through their individual lens, to learn that there are only solutions when working in my studio. My goals for all participants are engagement, curiosity, risk-taking, perseverance and pride in the studio experience - even when things don't work out the way they had planned! These are unquestionably the most reliable signs of success in my studio.
